Kith and Asics are joining forces for a highly anticipated collaboration, with the end result being the Marvel x Kith x Asics Gel Lyte III Remastered collection. This special release is an integral part of the X-Men 60th Anniversary Collection. Taking inspiration from the iconic suits worn by various X-Men characters throughout the years, and each pair is set to launch in July.

The collection will include colorways for Beast, Cyclops, Gambit, Rogue, Storm, and Wolverine, with a few characters receiving a few releases, inspired by the suit they wore during a select decade.

Beast – This model features a predominantly blue upper crafted from hairy pigskin suede, inspired by its namesake character. The Tiger Stripes are executed in white leather, which complement the white GEL-cushioned midsole and sockliner.

Cyclops – A mixture of navy, royal blue, yellow and red are applied across the upper. The vamp and quarter panels use sport mesh while the overlays are executed with smooth premium nubuck and leather.
Gambit – This model is color-blocked using shades of tan and brown with red accents. Premium nubuck is used throughout, with microperforated detailing seen on the vamp and quarter panels.

Rogue – This colorway channels its namesake character’s iconic green and yellow palette, as perforated pigskin suede is overlaid with smooth leather panels. Olive accents are used for the Tiger Stripes and sockliner.

Storm – Pony hair covers the upper of this model, as a nod to its namesake character’s flowing silver hair. The material is seen in white and grey, while black leather is used for the Tiger Stripes.

Wolverine (1975) – The colorway of this model is inspired by one of Wolverine’s earliest suits, and perhaps his most well-known, which debuted in 1975. Yellow perforated pigskin suede is seen on the vamp and quarter panels, while smooth leather in blue and black is applied to the overlays.

Wolverine (1980) – The colorway of this model is inspired by another famous Wolverine suit, which debuted in 1980. Yellow perforated pigskin suede is seen on the vamp and quarter panels, while smooth leather in brown and red is applied to the overlays.

What makes this collection of Asics Gel Lyte III unique is each pair is sealed, creating a blind box experience. Opening the box will reveal the surprise pair, adding an element of excitement and anticipation for collectors. In an exciting collaboration, Kith and Marvel have also teamed up with Upper Deck to recreate the original 1992 Uncanny X-Men Series 1 Trading Cards. These cards will be professionally graded by PSA and distributed randomly, with varying levels of rarity. Each card will proudly display co-branding from Kith and Marvel, further enhancing their collectible appeal.

For those that want to buy the X-Men x Kith x Asics Gel Lyte III 60th Anniversary Collection, they will be available between July 19th and July 23rd at San Diego Comic Con. On Friday, July 28th, the collection will be available at all Kith locations, EU.Kith.com at 11 AM CET, and Kith.com & the Kith App at 11 AM EST. This Asics Gel Lyte V comes constructed with canvas across the base and a textile denim material on the overlays. Highlighted in various shades of Yellow and tonal branding. We will see a handful of collaborations on the Gel Lyte III throughout the year. In February, Ronnie Fieg dropped his Kith x Asics Gel Lyte III Remastered ‘Super Orange’ and Super Yellow’ to celebrate his new store openings. Although collaborations aren’t easy to obtain, the brand has some nice inline drops coming soon. One of the upcoming releases is known as ‘Rooibos’ and will debut in Spring/Summer 2023.

This Asics Gel Lyte III, known as ‘Rooibos,’ is inspired by traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. The shoes are highlighted with recycled textiles and dyed panels that are leftover ingredients of matcha tea. Utilizing different shades of Orange throughout and tonal branding. They also come with frayed overlays and the signature split tongue. Finishing the sleek look is a Gum rubber outsole.

Ronnie Fieg will celebrate two new Kith stores opening by releasing two new Asics Gel Lyte III collaborations.

The new Kith flagship store in Los Angeles’ Beverly hills and Miami’s Design District, Ronnie Fieg will debut the ‘Super Orange’ and ‘Super Yellow’ Kith x Asics Gel Lyte III. Furthermore, what makes this release so special is that it will be their 99th and 100th Asics collaboration. Fieg also stated that the shoes will have a new update feature, but that has yet to leak.

You can expect the Kith x ASICS Gel Lyte III ‘Super Orange’ and ‘Super Yellow’ colorways to begin releasing on February 6th and February 27th at Kith.com. Once we have more information, we will make sure to update you. For now, scroll below for more photos that will give you a better look.

Update (1/29): Kith has announced that the ‘Super Orange’ Asics Gel Lyte III Remastered will release on February 3rd to celebrate the opening of Kith’s Beverly Hills flagship store. The shoes will also release at Kith.com and select Kith stores on February 6th. Currently, release details for the ‘Super Yellow’ pair have yet to be announced.

The Whitaker Group has connected with Asics to release two colorways of the Gel Lyte V that are designed by the Charlotte Lab School students.

During the pandemic, the Charlotte Lab School students were logging into a virtual learning platform hosted by The Whitaker Group and ASICS team leads in Design, Marketing, Branding, Merchandising, Sales, and Creative. These students logged in for their session over weeks, months, and what turned into a couple of years. Through dedication, resilience, and overall team effort, a limited ‘Eternal Summer’ Gel Lyte V collection is inspired by summer break, the feeling of excitement during this time period, and the rush to return back to school.

Students were also involved in every aspect of this pack launching to the world – from working with The Whitaker Group’s Design and Creative teams on the campaign to learning how to launch the product in their newly-designed in-school store, this project was student-led from the start to finish.

Following the release of Ronnie Fieg’s Knicks Asics EX89, Asics will launch various new colorways of the EX89, which, when initially launched, was known as the Gel-Extreme.

We have three upcoming colorways of the Asics EX89 that are inspired by the NBA team colors of the Lakers, Knicks, and Celtics. Each pair features leather throughout and mesh on the liner. Asics branding runs throughout, while the Celtics pair has a vintage midsole.

Ronnie Fieg will bring back the Asics EX89 basketball model and splash colors from the New York Knicks.

The EX89 was originally released in the late 80s but is known as the Gel-Extreme. The pair was designed by Toshikazu Kayano, who also created the Kayano line.

In the collection is three colorways, and all come in low-top form. One pair features Orange suede on the upper, the second features Off-White suede, and the third comes constructed with White leather paired with Orange and Blue accents.

You can expect the Ronnie Fieg x Asics EX89 in the Orange and Off-White suede color options to release on November 7th at Kith locations and Kith.com at 11 AM EST.
